Three months in one post

It seems I’m really not good with this time-management thing – unfortunately.

I had all the right reasons and best intentions but alas those weren’t enough to make me stick to my “resolution/wish” to post at least one project a month. The only way I can make up for it is to post all the finished projects at once!

So…there was a birthday project, a couple of Valentine’s and a couple of baby projects for me from January till now.

The best friend of my little daughter (and when I say best friend I mean they are joined by the hip!) celebrated her 13th birthday. I made her a word-art card using my Cameo and a cupcake box from Svgcuts’ Happy Birthday kit. I used First Edition’s  Bella Rose Premium Paper Pad cos they have the sturdiest patterned paper. The top layer was pop-dotted on the card base (on three sides of the base the word-art shaped the card.)

Christmas bazaar

December is just around the corner which brings the culmination of the holiday season into focus. Store windows are decked with Christmas decorations, pastry shops fill the air with scents of seasonal sweets, the weather seems to catch up to its norm (in Athens/Greece the weather was uncharacteristically mild for November), radio stations have Christmas songs on a loop and  full-force preparations are being made in every home.

We kicked off the season a bit early with a gathering at a friend’s house. It wasn’t per se Christmas-y but meeting up with friends is reason enough to celebrate with all of our busy schedules!

I was “surfing” Pinterest and was inspired to make a cone-shaped flower tower which I baptized then a flowery Christmas tree. Until the end, I was unsure but the end result was impressive – if I may say so myself.

Summer projects

Remember in the beginning of this year I mentioned that I needed to work on my time-management in this post ? Yeah…unfortunately not much has changed; I still need to get myself organized better cos although I was creating, many of my projects/gifts weren’t even photographed, not to mention blogged. 😦

So, the summer passed with a darling friend/neighbor giving birth to a little cutie pie and so I’ve made her a pink baby bottle filled with goodies (sorry, no pics of the gift, just my cutie pie holding the newborn cutie pie!)

A recap of Christmas 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I left you with promises of more to come but I – as I suspect everybody- got caught in Christmas preparations, which means I was diligently working on the “more” part just haven’t got any time to post it! I need to work on my time management this year…

Then January came…and went while I was sick. Winter in Greece is cheeky; the sun is out but it’s windy so in the shade you’re cold, in the sun you’re hot. Getting sick? -Absolutely inevitable.

But that’s all behind us now (for good I hope, at least for this year) and we can concentrate on lovelier things… like crafting!

So, the projects I didn’t get to show you last time include treats I made for my daughters’ classmates and teachers. There were chocolate-spoons (for stirring in milk), chocolate bars in snowman-disguise and Christmas inspired, spicy loose-tea mixes for cold nights to come.

My older daughter even composed a song for the chocolate milk spoons:

Rudolf, the red nose raindeer

has a very shiny nose,

and if you sing together

Rudolf’s antlers’ll jingle more.

Then at midnight Christmas Eve,

Santa came to say,

Rudolf, give those kids some treat

chocolate-spoon in milk to drink.

All of the kids love Rudi

and everyone is so happy,

Mister, go play a song

so everybody can sing along.

Kids and teachers equally enjoyed the treats.

Paris

No, I’m not going to nor coming back from Paris but I loved the Eiffel-tower box file from SVGCuts Amelie’s accessories so much I wanted to make it for someone.  I hope my cousin, Stella (who will get the box filled with goodies for her birthday), will get to go someday and see the real Eiffel tower for herself!

Three Tier Birthday Cake Box

One of my first projects as a birthday gift for a very special woman in my life was a three tier birthday cake box that is essentially a tower of three circular boxes with their lids glued to the above box’ bottom. All three boxes open and they measure from about 4 inches for the smallest, upper box to around 8 inches for the bottom  box. The flower is assembled from a rolled up middle and petals shaped into 3D form and the leaves pinched to gain some dimension.

The paper I used was from Bo Bunny, an assortment from various collections. I used SVGCuts cutting files for the flower embellishments, plastic half pearls, Perfect Pearls Mists in heirloom gold and Tea Dye Distress Ink from Ranger.

Hope you’ll enjoy!
